NORTHEAST KANSAS (KSNT) - The 2024 fall sports calendars in Lawrence and Manhattan are just days away from being in full swing.

This week's episode of K-Nation includes the final round of football season previews, with KU opening its season against Lindenwood on Aug. 29 and K-State against UT Martin on Aug. 31. After looking at both teams' offenses last week, the K-Nation team takes a deep dive into the defensive side of things.

Olympic gold medalist and new K-State assistant track and field coach Tara Davis-Woodhall made her debut in Manhattan during the week. An interview with her is on deck for next week's K-Nation.

Former KU pitcher and Topeka native Ryan Zeferjahn made his major league debut with the Angels over the weekend. His first pitch in the big leagues was a strike three.

Wildcat and Jayhawk volleyball start their seasons on Friday, Aug. 30, with K-State playing No. 8 Purdue and KU playing South Carolina. Players and coaches preview their respective seasons before things get underway. K-State is looking to avenge 2023's NCAA tournament snub, while KU looks to prove its status as the Big 12 preseason No. 1 team.

KU head football coach Lance Leipold joined K-Nation's Caroline Soro for a one-on-one interview to preview the 2024 season, which will be his fourth at the helm in Lawrence.

Voice of the Wildcats, Wyatt Thompson, joined the show in-studio to preview K-State football's 2024 season, including talk about scheduling in the new-look Big 12, Avery Johnson and preparing for games.

Sunday marked the final K-Nation for 27 Sports Director Glenn Kinley. His time at KSNT is coming to a close on Monday, Aug. 26 after four exciting years of covering the Jayhawks and Wildcats.

His K-nation farewell and the rest of this week's episode aired on Sunday night. The full episode can be watched above.
