China Defeats the USA in VNL, USA Will Meet Japan in the Quarterfinals

0 3

The USA women, who have only suffered two defeats in the VNL this summer, will now face one of the groups that defeated them in the quarterfinals.

The Current State of the VNL Season

The reason for this is that the Americans (10-2) slid to second position in the standings after losing to China (8-4) in five games on July 2 to conclude the third round. The USA was rocked by Japan, which placed eighth, in the third match of the second round. The loss on July 2 ended a four-game winning run. This shapes up to be an exciting season for the sports fans. If you are an avid bettor, you might want to check out casino bonuses in Michigan and pick the one that suits you most.

The remaining quarterfinal matches will take place in Arlington, Texas on July 12 or 13, and will feature first-place Poland (10-2) taking on eighth-place Germany (7-5), third-place Turkey (9-3) taking on eighth-place Italy (8-4), and fourth-place Brazil (8-4) taking on China.

USA VS. CHINA RALLIES

The Americans were defeated by a score of 18-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-20, and 15-8 as they fled Suwon, Korea. Before the wheels fell off, they had a 5-3 lead.

With 22 kills, an ace, and 11 digs, Kathryn Plummer topped the USA in scoring. Annie Drews had 15 kills, a block, seven digs,  and 17 kills while Kelsey Robinson Cook had 10 digs and two difficult attack mistakes late in the fifth that went out.

Haleigh Washington had seven kills, Dana Rettke had seven kills, two blocks, and an ace. Lauren Carlini, the setter, had four kills. Justine Wong-Orantes, the libero, got 17 digs.
