[Men's Volleyball] BENU Continues Drive For National Title

Benedictine Mesa's resolute march towards a Red Banner did not skip a beat in Saturday's California Pacific Conference Volleyball Championship title match at Bell Bank Park in Mesa, Ariz., as the top-seeded Redhawks swept past #2 seed Westcliff 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-23) and into the NAIA National Championship tournament with the conference's automatic bid.  BENU, now 24-3 and ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, is looking to become the first Cal Pac team to claim a national championship, a goal that eluded the Redhawks the past two seasons.  BENU won the inaugural NAIA title in 2019, beating Grand View (Iowa) in the final match, but the Cal Pac did not sponsor men's volleyball that season.  COVID-19 erased the 2020 championship tournament, but both BENU and GVU returned to the title match the next two seasons, with the Vikings prevailing both times.
