Bay Area News Group girls high school athlete of the week: Raquel Calderon, Mercy volleyball
Mercy-Burlingame volleyball player Raquel Calderon is the Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week of Nov. 7-12 after she received 12,504 votes (31.29%) by the 5 p.m. deadline on Wednesday
Saratoga golfer Millie Wang grabbed 12,227 votes (30.60%) to finish just behind Calderon.
Skyline cross country runner Charlotte Seven finished third.
Calderon, Mercy-Burlingame’s senior, helped her team punch its ticket to the NorCal Division-III regional final with a big game against Pleasant Valley. Calderon had six aces, nine digs, and 15 serve receptions.
