[Volleyball] Hawks Take #16 OUAZ to Five Sets

EL CAJON, Calif. – The San Diego Christian College Hawks battled but fell to the #16 OUAZ Spirit 3-2 in five sets during Friday night's conference matchup. The loss moves SDCC's record to 13-10 overall and 8-9 in the GSAC.

Veterans Jessica Pinasco (17 points) and Breanna Brooks (13 points) came out firing Friday night, looking for the upset against the nationally-ranked Ottawa Spirit. After claiming the first two sets, it was looking like this might be possible.

The upset was not to be, however, as OUAZ would take the final three sets and claim the match.

As well as the veterans played, the newcomers showed that the Hawks will be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come. Freshman right-side, Emma Honea (9 kills, 3 blocks), and freshman setter, Alexis Kepa (16 assists, 5 digs) let the Spirit know that SDCC will be competing for a GSAC title next season.
