ROCKLIN, Calif. – Back in the middle of September, the Hawks dropped a 5-set thriller against William Jessup.

Fast-forward a little over a month, the Warriors bested the Hawks again, this time in four sets, 22-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23.

The loss drops the Hawks to 12-9 on the season and 7-8 in conference play.

SDCC was able to grab the first set of the match thanks to a total of 15 kills and a 20 percent hitting percentage. Jessica Pinasco started things off with a solo block giving the Hawks the 1-0 lead. Both teams traded points and lead until the Hawks grabbed the lead for good after a kill from Celestina Lupeli that gave SDCC an 18-17 lead. Kayli Barrera added a service ace for the 25th point.

Set four saw four lead changes but William Jessup took the lead deep into the set at 19-18. SDCC received kills from Lupeli, Emma Honea, and Pinasco, but the Warriors held on for the set win.

Pinasco led the team with 14 kills and Megan Flores tallied 10 off the bench. The Hawks were able to keep the last two sets competitive, but William Jessup was able to close them out for the 3-1 win.

SDCC will finish their season with three games at home. They will host Vanguard next Saturday at 2 p.m.
