[Volleyball] Volleyball Knocked Off in Road Battle
Doane Volleyball traveled to Salina, Kansas, on Wednesday evening to take on a red-hot Kansas Wesleyan squad who entered the match on a 10-match win-streak. The Coyotes were able to hold Doane in check the majority of the match to post a 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-23) win.
KWU held Doane to a .009 attack percentage (26 kills, 25 errors), making a comeback effort difficult. The Coyotes closed out the match by taking the final three points with ace serves on the last two.
Gabby Menghini (SR/North Platte, Neb.) led the Tigers with 10 kills and Kirsten Bures (JR/Odell, Neb.) added seven. Jaime Renshaw (JR/Sioux Falls, S.D.) dished out 25 assists in the match while Reagan Petersen (SR/Syracuse, Neb.) had a team-high 10 digs. Simonie Mendenhall (JR/Clancy, Mont.) led the blocking attack with four.
The Tigers will return home on Friday, October 22, to take on Northwestern. Doane will honor their seniors following the match.
