[Volleyball] SSU VB sweeps rival, Emileigh Cooper Tourney host Rio in straight sets
The volleyball program at Shawnee State University continued its strong play on the second day of the Emileigh Cooper Memorial Tournament as the Bears followed up a sweep against Bluefield (Va.) with a huge victory over Rio Grande in straight sets (25-21, 25-16, 25-20) behind its outstanding .287 attack percentage as a unit.
Offensively, Shawnee State was splendid throughout all three of its sets against Rio Grande as the Bears never hit below .257 in any of the three sets played against the two units while posting 38 kills to just eight attack errors on the evening. During the final two sets alone, SSU hit .333 and .279 en route to raising its overall attack percentage to that .287 mark -- which greatly bested the Red Storm's posting of .211.
