KNIGHTS WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DOES SOME FALL BEAR HUNTING IN GEORGIA

CLEVELAND, GA – The St. Andrews University women's volleyball team played its second game in as many nights as it traveled to Cleveland, Georgia to face Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) opponent Truett McConnell University in a game previously postponed due to Hurricane Florence.  The Knights arrived in Cleveland with the hope of getting some Bear hunting in before the arrival of another hurricane, Hurricane Michael.  The Knights proved to be good Bear hunters, but the Truett McConnell Bears were determined not to let it be a successful hunting trip for the Knights.  The Bears won their fourth straight AAC game by defeating the Knights 3-2 with the individual game scores of 25-21, 21-25, 23-25, 25-20 and 7-15.

Showing they are not scared of some Georgia Bears, five Knights hunters unloaded their guns on the Bears to create some excitement during the hunt.  Those five hunters were Kaylah Sloop (FR/Mount Pleasant, NC) with 17 kills and four blocks, Destiney O'Kane (SR/El Paso, TX) with 11 kills, Shalia Powell (JR/Dayton, NV) with 29 assists and 18 defensive digs, Lily Allen (JR/Four Oaks, NC) with 10 defensive digs and Karina Lozada (SO/Bayamon, Puerto Rico) with 36 defensive digs.

The Knights (6-8/3-3) continue their Georgia road trip by traveling to West Point, Georgia for a Thursday 1:00 p.m. match against AAC foe Point University (14-10/8-2).  Friday the Knights will be in Waleska, Georgia for an 11:00 a.m. AAC game against Reinhardt University.  The team's next home game will be Friday, October 19th at 6:30 p.m. against AAC opponent Tennessee Wesleyan University from Athens, Tennessee.

Note:  Statistics from the Knights Tuesday night game against Columbia International University are still not available.
