[Volleyball] Day One K.W.C. Volleyball Invitational Recap

Brescia University Women's volleyball team made the long journey down Frederica St. to compete in the K.W.C. Invitational on Friday August 31st.

The Lady Bearcats would face off first against Trevecca Trojans. The Lady Bearcats would surprise the Trojans and jump out to an early lead. They would take the first set 25-18, but Trevecca would not just give in. The Trojans would fight back and take set two 25-22. Now with the match tied one set a piece it was time to see what the Lady Bearcats were made of.  Brescia would fall behind early in the third set, as much as 10 points before they would gain some momentum behind sophomore defensive specialist Kailee Moore who would put the Lady Trojans out of system with her serving. This would allow Brescia to catch up with Trevecca and eventually take the lead from them and secure the third set 25-20. Now with the crowd behind them the Lady Bearcats were able to take the fourth set 25-17 and secure their 6th win of the season.

In the afternoon the Lady Bearcats would face Oakland City University. The Lady Oaks were able to beat Brescia last year three separate times and this was all the inspiration that the Lady Bearcats would need to help them stay focused and win their 7th match of the year. 25-18, 25-20, 25-10.

Brescia will be back in action tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. to face Maryville of St. Louis. They will finish the weekend with a cross town rivalry match against the Panthers of K.W.C. Match time for the night cap is set for 7:00 p.m.
