[Volleyball] Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

MONTREAT, N.C. – The Cavaliers were recognized for their academic achievements in the 2017-18 school year as they earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

The award, initiated by the AVCA in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

This is the program's sixth consecutive year earning the annual honor under Head Coach Kristy Kamer. Montreat was one of 49 NAIA teams and three AAC members to receive this year's award.

The Cavaliers are set to open their season at home with the 10th Annual Volley in the Mountains Tournament beginning Aug. 24. Coach Kamer and her team are excited to welcome two NCAA Division II teams to kick off the 2018 season.
