[Men's Volleyball] Men's Volleyball finishes season with first-ever national ranking

0

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Grand View (Iowa) finished the season with the No. 1 ranking in the NAIA Men's Volleyball Coaches' Top 10 Poll, the national office announced on Wednesday. The Vikings earned their first red banner in the 2018 season when they defeated runner-up Benedictine in 4 sets last week.

The St. Andrews Men's Volleyball program, coming off their first-ever national invitational bid and conference tournament championship, also fulfilled another goal during their magical 2018 season: The Knights were ranked 9th in the NAIA in the Final Postseason Top 10 Poll that came out on Wednesday. SAU is receiving 38 points in the poll, an improvement of 19 points since the last poll when they were tied for 11th in the receiving votes section.

SAU (19-9) is inexplicably one point behind 8th ranked Park University (Mo.), who did not even qualify for the NAIA Invite, while the Knights are 4 points ahead of Robert Morris, in 10th.

SAU went 0-3 last week in their first time at the tournament falling in 4 sets each to 4th ranked Lourdes and 6th ranked Briar Cliff while also falling in 3 competitive sets to then-No. 1 Missouri Baptist (third ranked currently).
