[Men's Volleyball] St. Ambrose gets two home CCAC victories

St. Ambrose extended its winning streak to seven matches by posting a pair of CCAC wins this week.

Tuesday, the No. 4-ranked Bees defeated Robert Morris 25-21, 25-20, 31-29, and two days later they beat Calumet St. Joseph 25-11, 25-19, 25-21. SAU is now 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the conference.

Scott MacGillis led the charge against the Eagles. He finished with 20 kills and three aces in the 3-0 win. Levi Vermuelen had 13 and Jaylen Clark picked up 11. Austin Royer had a match-high 42 assists. Riley Anderson led all players with 12 digs.

SAU hit .324 as a team.

St. Ambrose upped that mark to .390 in the three-set win over Calumet St. Joseph.

Nine different Bees put down at least one kill. Eric Zacher paced the team with 12 kills. Spencer Lanig had seven, Anderson collected six and Nathan Heller added four. Lanig also recorded four of the team's six aces.

Jake Snyder had a match-best 32 assists. Anderson and Ricardo Ubior led the team with four digs apiece.

The Bees will next head to Dubuque, Iowa, for matches against No. 3 Briar Cliff and Clarke Saturday.
