[Volleyball] Volleyball Conference Honors Released

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its volleyball awards for the 2017 season. Cornerstone picked up two of the individual awards: Kendra Zwart was named Player of the Year after tallying 415 kills and 148 blocks while Hope Leppink was named Setter of the Year thanks to her 1,292 assists and 280 digs.

Aquinas picked up the next two individual awards: Libero of the Year went to Marisa Spetoskey, who had 670 digs and 59 assists and Kylie Christensen earned Newcomer of the Year with 302 kills and 85 blocks.

Madonna head coach Jerry Abraham was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Crusaders to an undefeated conference title. Rochester's Shannon Billings was named Champions of Character Coach.

In addition to individual awards, the league announced its All-Conference Teams (1st, 2nd, and All-Freshman), All-Academic Team (at least a junior in academic standing and accumulate GPA of 3.25), and Champions of Character Team (best exemplifies the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership).
