[Men's Volleyball] UCM's Medina Named 2020 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar
UC Merced graduating senior Joey Medina has been named the men's volleyball Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar of the Year by the magazine Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. The magazine's annual Ashe edition is a part of the quarter-century legacy of recognizing outstanding minority young men and women who have distinguished themselves in their academic and athletic pursuits. This distinction has been awarded since 1984 and this year over 1,000 nominees across 40 sports were considered.
