Not all eyes were on East London over the May bank holiday weekend. Diverted by the requisition of the volleyball centre for the EU elections, the under 15s to University of Leicester and the under 17s to the brand-new facilities at the University of Warwick. Brilliant is the word used by one report of the event. The girls’ event was played on the Saturday and Sunday with the boys following on Sunday and Monday.
