Siena women's tennis striving to stay perfect

Saints' 14-0 start matches best in any sport in school history

The Siena women's tennis team will play its match at a local high school on Saturday because the Saints don't have suitable courts on their own campus.

"Siena's known as a basketball school, so for a while of being kind of cast in the shadow of basketball and now being able to come up there and join them in success, is something really great for the program," senior Ali Garrity said.

The Saints play their home matches indoors at Tri-City or outdoors at Albany Academy and Watervliet High School.

If Siena can get past Monmouth on Saturday, the perfect season will be in serious jeopardy on Sunday at Quinnipiac, the unanimous preseason favorite in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

The Saints and Bobcats (6-7 overall) are tied for first in the MAAC at 3-0, but Quinnipiac has played a tougher overall schedule.
