VdL & Arquebusiers Tennis Club Infrastructure Upgrade
The Tennis Club des Arquebusiers, in partnership with Luxembourg City (VdL), unveiled a €3.3 million upgrade to its facilities on December 2, 2025, including a new pavilion and expanded brasserie in Luxembourg-Belair. Attendees included Mayor Lydie Polfer, Aldermen Laurent Mosar and Maurice Bauer, Luxembourg Tennis Federation President Claude Lamberty, and club President Kik Schneider, alongside other local tennis leaders. Key improvements feature a 46-meter-long by 5.7-meter-wide multi-use pavilion for training, receptions, meetings, and events, complete with an accessible rooftop terrace facing the courts; additional work covered restaurant expansion on a prior flat roof, a new elevator for better access, refreshed upstairs restrooms, and two galvanized steel emergency stairs outdoors. Financed mainly by a €2.6 million municipal grant from February 2024 plus €680,000 from the club, the total reached €3.29 million including VAT, with backing from the Ministry of Sport to foster sustainable sports venues. Established in 1922, the club now serves 1,135 members and over 750 tennis school students, positioning it among Luxembourg’s top tennis groups with a history of youth sports promotion; VdL praised it as a dynamic force after its 2017 hall addition with three new courts.
