Laura Siegemund's Boyfriend Is a Pro Tennis Coach
The German tennis pro Laura Siegemund was playing a tough game against the high-ranked Aryna Sabalenka.
On July 8, Siegemund was competing at Wimbledon against Sabalenka. That has some people wondering whether Siegemund is married and who she is dating.
In 2019, Women's Tennis Blog reported that her boyfriend was fellow tennis player Antonio Zucca. The announcer during the live broadcast on July 8 reported that Zucca is Siegemund's coach and that she consulted him after taking the first set from Sabalenka. The coach identified him as Antonio Zucca and said she was probably asking him what do in the latter stage and also revisiting what was working.
They made their relationship public when she posted about Zucca on her Instagram page several years ago. Siegemund is 37 and from Germany; she was "enjoying her best major ever," according to the announcer. Sabalenka is the top-ranked women's tennis player in the world, so taking even one set from her at Wimbledon is no easy task.
In 2024, she posted a video showing the couple at the Great Wall of China. Another picture showed them posing together in Dubai.
Zucca's Instagram page is set to private. He says on it that he's a tennis coach.
He has also been her coach.
According to the ATP, he is from Italy and was born in 1992.
He never achieved his girlfriend's successes as professional tennis player. According to ATP, his top rank was 1,066. The last professional tennis event he played was in 2017 in Tunisia, according to that site. His prize money was only over $8,700.
According to Tennis Tonic, Zucca started dating Siegemund after he joined her coaching team in 2018.
Siegemund's tennis play improved with Zucca joining her coaching team as she has made it to a couple of finals.
