Tennis Legend Rips WNBA Players After Caitlin Clark Skirmish
A skirmish involving Indiana Fever and WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark has left a tennis legend none-too-pleased.
The scuffle broke out in the third quarter of the Fever's 88-71 win over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, which clinched the Fever's spot in the Commissioner's Cup.
Clark was poked in the eye while being defended by the Sun's Jacy Sheldon, which led to Clark pushing Sheldon away in frustration. In response, Marina Mabrey forcefully bumped Clark to the ground.
Both teams and WNBA fans blamed officials for things getting out of hand, and there was no shortage of outrage after Mabrey wasn't thrown out of the game after her blatantly dirty action against Clark.

One of Clark's fans who was upset by the situation was tennis legend Chris Evert, who ripped the WNBA and its player for the treatment of Clark.
"When will these ladies realize, accept, and appreciate (Caitlin Clark) is the best thing that ever happened to women's basketball," Evert wrote on X. "This is a bad look for the sport and what's happened to sportsmanship?"

Fellow Fever star Sophie Cunningham backed up her teammate later on in the contest, when she committed a hard foul on Sheldon with under one minute left to play, leading to another altercation between the teams.
Clark appears to be just fine after everything that went down. She finished the contest with 20 points and six assists.
