Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime has won his first match at an individual tournament since August.

The No. 3 seed, after getting a bye in the opening round, downed Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2 in the round of 16 at the European Open on Wednesday in Antwerp, Belgium.

Auger-Aliassime, from Montreal, had lost his past four matches at individual events, though he did prevail in three Davis Cup clashes for Canada last month.

The Canadian raised his career record to 3-2 against Fucsovics, ranked 93rd in the world, with Wednesday’s win.

Auger-Aliassime, ranked 21st, saved all three break points he faced, while converting on 10 of 13 against Fucsovics.

Auger-Aliassime will face Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut in the quarterfinals on Friday.
