Nadal Djokovic

Two of the biggest stars in the history of men’s tennis could be in line for an early showdown at the Paris Olympics.

If top seed Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Spain’s Rafael Nadal both win their openers at Roland Garros, they’ll square off in the second round.

Both men are at the top of the draw, which was unveiled Thursday.

Djokovic, who has won a record 24 Grand Slam titles, faces Australia’s Matthew Ebden in the first round.

Nadal, who has won 14 of his 22 Grand Slam crowns at Roland Garros, meets Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics in his opener. Nadal dropped out of Wimbledon to focus on an Olympic run and made the final at a clay-court tune-up last week.

Canada’s Milos Raonic will face Germany’s Dominik Koepfer in the first round, while No. 13 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal tangles with American Marcos Giron.

On the women’s side, Poland’s Iga Swiatek is the top seed.

Canada’s Leylah Fernandez is the No. 16 seed and faces Karolina Muchova of Czechia in the first round. Canada’s Bianca Andreescu squares off with Denmark’s Clara Tauson.

The tennis competition starts Saturday.
