The Aussie reached the Wimbledon final in 2022 but has only played one match on the ATP Tour since October of that year.

The star has suffered with both knee and wrist injuries but has now vowed that he will return shortly with “fire in his belly”.

Kyrgios took time out of his recovery last night to conduct a Q&A with fans on his Instagram page.

One asked if he would ever be interested in a boxing fight.

And Kyrgios responded by revealing that idea interested him greatly.

He said: “Yeah I would, at the end of my tennis career.”

Kyrgios then added: “There are a couple of people I’d call out.”

However, one man he would not want to face is Talk TV’s very own Piers Morgan.

The two engaged in an angry social media row before the “bad boy of tennisappeared on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show on TalkTV last year.

When he was asked if Morgan was somebody he would like to take on in the ring, he replied: “Nah we are friends now!”

Although former rival Bernard Tomic could be somebody he decides to call out.

His compatriot claimed that he wanted to settle their feud once-and-for-all with either a tennis match – or in the boxing ring or basketball court.

Tomic said: “First things first, let’s set the record straight here.

“Our current score is 1-0, I beat you once before, I’ll beat you again whenever you want. I dominate you every time we play, we train, and you know that.

“You say you’re good at basketball, I’ll beat you at that too.

“Tennis? I’ll dominate you one-on-one. To not make excuses, I’ll even play you on grass, whenever you want.

“You know what? Let’s sort this out in the boxing ring. Put your gloves on, I’ll dominate you there also. Let’s see who’s better once and for all.”

That led to Kyrgios telling Tomic that first he needed to concentrate on rediscovering his form on the tennis court.

Although, he left the door open for a boxing match at the end of his career.

Kyrgios said: “Maybe one day my brother we can later on when my career winds down.

“But I’m too occupied at the moment bro, preparing for tournaments like Wimbledon and stuff.

“I hope everything is well, let’s put this to bed. I’ll verse you when I verse you if you can get back to the top and to the main tour.

“But as for now, I think you’ve got some bigger life challenges ahead brother, so best of luck.”
