Canada’s Bianca Andreescu was forced to retire from her fourth-round match at the Miami Open on Monday night after suffering an apparent leg injury.

Facing off against No. 18 seed Ekaterina Alexandrovaat, the 22-year-old collapsed as she attempted to run down the ball during the third game of the second set.

Andreescu could immediately be heard crying and even exclaiming at one point, “I’ve never felt this kind of pain before.” She received medical attention for several minutes before being taken off the court in a wheelchair.

Alexandrovaat advances on to the tournament’s quarterfinals after a final score of 7-6 (0), 0-2 ret.
