Retd German tennis player to groom talents in city
The bhubaneswar tennis academy was inaugurated on Wednesday and is set to groom future tennis stars in Odisha. The academy is located at the Kiit campus and is partnered with former German tennis player Alexander Waske and Altevol Tennis Academy. Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera and Kiit and Kiss Founder Achyuta Samanta were in attendance at the inauguration. Waske said that there are many talented tennis players in Odisha and other states, and that this academy will help budding talents to reach the grand slam level. There are 15 coaches of international level physio and trainers who will come to train the students. Waske will also train the players through virtual mode. He has been a top ranked singles and doubles player from Germany and has competed at the highest level including playing in grand slams.
