Australian Open 2023 odds: Murray odds slashed after first round win, Djokovic odds-on, Raducanu 50/1

0 32

NOVAK DJOKOVIC remains the odds-on favourite to win this year’s men’s Australian Open.

Betfair make Djokovic the 5/6 favourite to lift a record TENTH Aussie Open – and match Rafa Nadal’s record of 22 Grand Slam titles.

Nick Kyrgios and world number one Carlos Alcaraz both miss the tournament through injury, aiding his chances.

Daniil Medvedev – who Djokovic beat in straight sets in the warm-up event in Adelaide – is second favourite at 9/2.

Nadal, Jannik Sinner and Stefanos Tsitsipas will all fancy their chances at backable prices.

Andy Murray’s odds were slashed from 250/1 to 100/1 after his epic first round win over Matteo Berrettini.

The Scot went the distance before coming out victorious in the final set tie break. Cam Norrie (55/1) and Dan Evans (500/1) look to have quite the task ahead of them.

While in the women’s draw, Iga Swiatek unsurprisingly leads the betting as the 15/8 favourite – cut from 23/10.

Again, she’s helped by the fact Ash Barty – current holder of the Aussie Open – retired during the year in 2022.

Swiatek leads big-hitting Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka (13/2) and Jessica Pegula (15/2) at the top of the market with Betfair.

Coco Gauff is a 9/1 shot as she faces Emma Raducanu in the second round.

The Brit came through her opening round match well in straight sets and now has her eyes on her first top-10 scalp.

She’s 50/1 from 75/1 to win the tournament.
