[Men's Tennis] No. 12 Hawks Take Care of NCAA Div. III Foe Redlands

REDLANDS, Calif. – The No. 12 SDCC men's tennis team is back in the win column against Redlands as the Hawks won 8-1 on Saturday.

The win improves SDCC to 2-4 on the season.

Chris Papa and Nick Nienhaus took the first point for the Hawks at No. 1 Doubles. They won 8-3 before Julius Kaufmann and Luis Hochenauer won in No. 3 Doubles with the same score of 8-3. Sebastian Haberler and Robin Van den Hoek had a little more difficulty in taking their set. They won 8-7 after their tie-breaker.

With a 3-0 lead, the Hawks just needed one more point to clinch the match. Papa claimed that honor with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 Singles. The only point the Hawks lost was at No. 3 Singles. Van den Hoek lost his match 6-3, 6-5.

SDCC will have nearly two weeks off before their next match. The Hawks will host Westcliff at Riviera Oaks in Ramona.
