[Women's Tennis] Indiana Tech Ends Season at NAIA Women's Tennis Nationals First Round

MOBILE, Ala. - (NAIA Release) - Indiana Tech's first trip to the NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship was cut short after a 5-2 loss to No. 15 Cumberlands (Ky.) in the first round at the Mobile Tennis Center. The Warriors won at No. 2 doubles with Vero Jimenez and Marianna Murcai playing, but dropped the other two matches to head into singles play down 1-0. 

Abigail Simms won her match at No. 2 singles and Thaina Carvalho notched a win at the No. 6 singles slot to propel the Warriors as the only losing  team to score more than one point. 

Cumberlands advanced to face second-seeded Keiser (Fla.) while the Warriors finish the season with a 17-3 overall record.
