[Men's Tennis] UNOH Advances at NAIA Men's Tennis Nationals
MOBILE, Ala. - (NAIA Release) - No. 19-seeded UNOH upset No. 14 Montreat (N.C.) 4-1 in the first round of the 2021 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship being played at the Mobile Tennis Center. The Racers took the No. 1 doubles with Sergio Conde and Marcos Salazar and claimed the doubles point when Martin Stanchev and Alex de Vilar teamed up for a 7-6 win at second doubles. UNOH won at the No. 3 singles slot with a 6-4, 6-0 win by Malik Omarkhanov. David Ayguavives clinched the win with three-set thriller at No. 6 singles.
The Racers (22-4) now face No. 3 Middle Georgia at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19 in the second round.
