[Women's Tennis] Women's Tennis Tripped Up by Mustangs

Doane Women's Tennis hosted Morningside on Sunday afternoon in Crete. The visitors were able to edge in front by taking two of the three doubles matches and used the momentum to knock off the Tigers, 5-2, as three singles matches went to the third set.

All three doubles matches were close. Doane took 1-doubles, 6-4, but dropped 2-doubles, 6-4, and 3-doubles, 7-5. In singles play, Amber Weston (FR/Mead, Colo.) won in straight sets but in a close battle, 6-4, 7-6 (11-9). Doane dropped the matches at 2-singles and 3-singles in a third set while Liz van der Torre (SO/Greeley, Colo.) won in three sets, 6-2, 6-7 (9-11), 7-6 (7-5). Morningside won the last two matches in straight sets.
