0 19

St. Ambrose closed the regular season on a roll. The Bees won their third straight dual, taking down Roosevelt 4-3 in Chicago Sunday afternoon.

It was again the bottom half of the lineup that keyed the victory.

SAU earned the doubles point by claiming two of the three matches. Megan Schueneman and Kaylee Camp earned a 6-3 win at No. 2, while the No. 3 team of Kelsey Jaeger and Saryn Seeley won by default.

The Bees then got the three singles wins they needed to close out the win.

Camp dropped just a single game in her 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles. Jaeger rolled to a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5. Seeley won by default for the other St. Ambrose win.

The other three matches were tight. Meg Chadick lost a third-set super-tiebreaker 6-2, 5-7 10-6 in her match at No. 1 singles. Schueneman fell 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3. And after winning the first set at No. 2 singles, Kiersten Housenga retired down 4-1 in the second set.

The Bees, now 7-7 overall and 4-3 in the conference, will open the CCAC Tournament with a first-round match on Apr. 27.
