[Women's Tennis] Women's Tennis: USK Give No.12 Hawks A Match, SDCC Triumphs 4-2
RAMONA, Calif – The No. 12 ranked San Diego Christian College women's tennis team defeated the University of Saint Katherine Firebirds, 4-2 Friday at Riviera Oaks in Ramona.
The Hawks found themselves in an unusual position as the Firebirds captured the opening point of the match in doubles.
The Hawks would come back strong in singles as Valentina Sottile cruised past USK's Nadine Heckert 6-1, 6-0 and Barbara Damiani easily defeated the Firebird's McKenna Mountain 6-3, 6-3.
After Angela Rinaldi was defeated, the Hawks found themselves tied 2-2 with Tomi Felix and Angelika Sidirov battling in their respective matches. Felix and Sidirov would eventually secure the victory for San Diego Christian winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, and 6-7, 6-0, 6-1 respectively.
The Hawks take on the Arizona Christian Firestorm on Friday, April 9 in Ramona.
