[Tennis] Chevez, Weston Receive GPAC Honors

Jorge Chevez (JR/Panama City, Panama) and Amber Weston (FR/Mead, Colo.) have been selected as the GPAC Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week for the second consecutive week after their performances against Northwestern and McPherson.

Chevez went 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles action, posting a win over NAIA/ITA Central Region's 7th-ranked Julien Bodin, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (12-10). He added a conference victory over Brian VandenBerg, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. Chevez trailed in the final set against VandenBerg, 3-4, before taking the final three games.

Weston went 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles play, with a win over the region's 6th-ranked Vanessa Mundo of McPherson, 6-3, 6-4. In the GPAC opening match against Northwestern, she defeated Wynne Vandersall, 6-3, 6-1.
