[Men's Tennis] No. 13 Hawks Defeat Westmont 4-2
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The SDCC men's tennis team stayed undefeated in conference play as the No. 13 ranked Hawks defeated Westmont 4-2 on Tuesday.
The win keeps the Hawks 1.5 matches up against OUAZ and USK.
In doubles play, Nick Nienhaus and David Samardzija made quick work at No. 2 Doubles winning 6-1. Chris Papa and Ivan Smith followed shortly after with a 6-2 win at No. 1 Doubles to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead.
Westmont took a singles match against Smith to square the match at 1-1. Nienhaus gave the Hawks a 2-1 lead as he won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 Singles. Samardzija won his singles match 6-3, 6-3 and Papa won 6-4, 7-5 to give SDCC the win.
SDCC will host USK on Friday.
