Doane Men's Tennis hosted Tabor on Friday afternoon in Crete as the teams moved up their match due to the wet weather forecast for Saturday. Doane jumped out early as they played singles action first in order to beat any potential rain and the Tigers posted a 6-1 victory over the Bluejays.

With three courts, the top three singles matches took place first. Jorge Chevez (JR/Panama City, Panama) made quick work of his opponent, Mickel Alexander, at No. 1 by defeating him 6-0, 6-2. At No. 2, Federico Infante (FR/Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over Juan Ramirez. Wrapping up the opening three matches, Esteban Gutierrez (FR/Panama City, Panama) went to a tie-break to defeat JP Fort at No. 3, 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-8).

The next three matches on the court were 4, 5, and 6 singles. Henrique Sakoda (JR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) claimed a win at No. 5 to clinch the match for Doane with the fourth team point. He defeated Raul Chan, 6-2, 6-4. Sam Coy (JR/Lincoln, Neb.) followed with a 7-5, 6-3, win at No. 4 over Ethan Kutz. Tabor picked up the win at No. 6 as Alejandro Velasco defeated Donat Beke (FR/Algyo, Hungary), 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles action, the Tigers took two of the three matches to earn the doubles point. Chevez and Gutierrez teamed up at No. 1 to defeat Alexander/Ramirez, 6-3. Infante and Sakoda defeated the Fort/Chan combo at No. 2, 6-0. Tabor took the No. 3 doubles match as Kutz/Velasco defeated Coy/Beke, 6-2.
