0 18

St. Ambrose began its spring season with two victories in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, helping the team move to 3-3 on the year. The Bees defeated host Coe 6-2 before defeating Wisconsin Lutheran 5-4.

SAU swept doubles play in both duals, and it proved to be the difference in the win over Wisconsin Lutheran.

Meg Chadick and Kaylee Camp won their match at No. 1 8-4. The No. 2 team of Megan Schueneman and Saryn Seeley and the No. 3 team of Kelsey Jaeger and Gillian Sondgeroth each won their matches by 8-6 scores.

The three doubles points helped offset losing four of the six singles matches.

Chadick and Camp were the Bees winners in singles. Chadick won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 and Camp dropped just a single game in her 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3. Jaeger dropped her match at No. 4 in a third-set super-tiebreaker.

In the win over Coe, St. Ambrose won three of the five completed singles matches along with sweeping doubles play.

Chadick won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 and Alison Hanson was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at No. 6. Camp was extended to a third-set superbreaking before prevailing, 3-6, 6-1, 10-0 at No. 3. Seeley's match at No. 4 was unfinished.

Seeley and Schueneman prevailed 9-7 at No. 2 doubles. The other matches weren't as competitive. Jaeger and Hanson earned an 8-3 win at No. 3 and Chadick and Camp cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 1.

The Bees return to action at Cornell next Saturday.
