The men's and women's tennis programs at Shawnee State put together a strong showing Saturday afternoon in a neutral-site matchup against Mount Vernon Nazarene, with each match coming down to the wire as the Bears pulled out a 4-3 thriller on the women's side while the Cougars notched the 4-3 decision on the men's side of play in nonconference contests Saturday at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Ky.
During the two matches, Kierstin Hensley continued her tear from the fall by winning both of her matches at No. 1 singles and doubles, while two international newcomers to the lineup, Sara Martin Reguera and Max Mitchell, each made successful debuts by combining to win three of their four matches in Saturday's play.
