Australian Open quarantine chaos as Yulia Putintseva’s hotel room infested with MICE after being moved for same issue

YULIA PUTINTSEVA has further shamed the Australian Open quarantine chaos with her hotel room infested with mice for a second time.

The Kazakh star is one of 72 tennis players self-isolating for ten days in their hotel rooms after a person on her flight tested positive for the virus.

Around 1,200 people have jetted to Melbourne for the tournament which gets underway on 8 February.

And Putintseva’s current predicament sums up the ongoing farce that surrounds the tournament.

The 26-year-old was already forced to change rooms after spotting a mouse.

And it appears the infestation is rife as she documented more of the rodents scuttling around her room.

Putintseva uploaded footage to Instagram of her ongoing issue just adding to the stress of being locked inside her room.

On Monday she revealed her hotel windows didn’t even open to provide fresh air.

Holding up a photoshopped sign which read ‘we need fresh air to breathe’, Putintseva also wrote the caption: “Windows do not open. Fresh air is important.”

In another video she can be seen warming up for the Grand Slam by hitting a tennis ball against a mattress.

British tennis star Heather Watson uploaded a video working out inside her room by doing squats while lifting a hotel chair.

Men’s world No1 Novak Djokovic is another in quarantine and made a list of demands to Australian organisers to help ease restrictions.

One of those demands included moving players “to private houses with tennis courts.”

Organisers shut down his list of demands while other players critised his suggestions.

Djokovic made his anti-vaccination stance clear last year before catching Covid at a disastrous tennis event he staged.

And Aussie ace Nick Kyrgios took to social media to call Djokovic ‘a tool’.
