Roger Federer Starts Tennis-at-home Challenge With Pro Tips; Nominates Virat Kohli, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bear Grylls For Solo Drill Video

Swiss maestro Roger Federer has come up with a fun volley challenge to fellow players at fans on social media to keep themselves occupied during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Federer shared a one-minute video of a solo drill to try at home, where he beautifully volleyed a tennis ball against the wall. Lately, Federer has been active on social media and has been regularly posting interesting videos for his plethora of fans.

In his Tweet on Tuesday, Federer tagged a bunch of other athletes and asked everyone to share their videos doing the drill. The 38-year-old wrote, “Here’s a helpful solo drill. Let’s see what you got! Reply back with a video and I’ll provide some tips. Choose your hat wisely #tennisathome”.

In another tweet, the legendary Tennis ace nominated several celebrities, including Indian captain Virat Kohli, Juventus legend Cristiano Ronaldo, Bill Gates, Serena Williams, Dwayne Johnson and Bear Grylls to participate in his challenge.

Earlier, Federer had shared a video of himself where he was seen playing his trademark trick-shots against a wall at home, including around-the-back or through-the-leg-tweener trick shots.


Federer had also donated one million Swiss Francs to vulnerable families that are most vulnerable in the fight against Coronavirus in Switzerland.

The men’s and women’s professional tours remain suspended until at least mid-July because of the COVID-19 outbreak which has claimed more than thousands of lives across the world.

Coronavirus has also affected major Grand Slam tournaments of the year. The French Open got postponed to September which was originally supposed to begin from May 26, 2020. Later, it was announced that Wimbledon will also not take place this year.
