CHICAGO --- The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) has announced that it has suspended all league intercollegiate athletic events until further notice due to the developments surrounding the COVID-19 virus effective immediately. This includes all nine league-sponsored sports that were currently in-season: baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's golf, men's and women's outdoor track & field and men's volleyball.

"As most are aware, the NAIA has canceled its 2020 Winter Championships. In addition, many of our universities have made difficult decisions regarding the modality of courses as well as suspending travel and/or competitions," said Mablene Krueger, CCAC Council of Presidents representative. "In response to this fluid situation and the difficulty in holding contests, all CCAC intercollegiate athletic events are suspended indefinitely as experts continue to monitor the situation and offer guidance."

In contemplating when the suspension can be lifted, CCAC presidents will be monitoring updates from local, state and federal agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control. Once the suspension has been dismissed, conference officials will make the determination when competitions can resume for those schools wishing to compete and how post-season play will be instituted.

In the best interests of all, the CCAC reminds all athletic administrators, coaches, officials, student-athletes and fans to adhere to the guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control regarding the COVID-19 virus. This information can be found at COVID-19.
