[Men's Tennis] Tigers drop 4-3 decision to Asbury
WILMORE, Kentucky -- The Olivet Nazarene University men's tennis team fell to Asbury University in a tight match on Monday afternoon, 4-3. The host Eagles would take the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Francisco Faria and Alex Verdu fell 6-3 at line one, while Kyle Lingle and Nadrian Fiesta lost 6-3 on court three. ONU's Alfonso Martinez and Jonathan Hentschel won on court two by a score of 6-2.
Needing to win four of the six singles matches, the Tigers would split with the host Eagles, winning on courts one, three, and five. Faria defeated 32nd-ranked Joshua Turnquest at one singles, 6-4, 6-2. Martinez and Hentschel both pulled out tough three-set wins for the Tigers. Martinez won at three singles 6-3, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (5), while Hentschel won 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 on court five.
