[Women's Tennis] Georgia Gwinnett too much for Tigers
LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia -- The Olivet Nazarene University women's tennis team battled top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett college on Wednesday afternoon. Despite winning one of the three doubles matches, the host Grizzlies were too much for the Tigers as they pulled away for a 6-0 win.
Nirval Patel teamed up with Narjis Mzibri to win 6-4 at two doubles. Dana Huck and Jovana Parlic fell 6-2 at one doubles, while Amanda Eberly and Grace Matheis lost 6-0 at three doubles. The Grizzlies took five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Patel was trailing 6-1, 4-2 against Madeline Bosnjak at two singles when rain ended the match.
Georgia Gwinnett is the three-time defending champion in the NAIA and improves to 11-0 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 5-4.
