[Tennis] SDC Takes Care of Marymount California in GSAC Battle

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. – In back-to-back days, the SDC men's and women's Tennis teams have blanked their opponent.

This time the Hawks defeated Marymount California 4-0 on both the men's and women's side.

On the men's side, the Hawks won at No. 1 and No. 3 Doubles to claim.the first point of the match. Ivan Smith and Chris Papa won 6-1 at No. 1 and Paul Niederle and Rodrigo Roxo won 6-1 as well.

In singles play, Nick Nienhaus won at No. 2 Singles 6-3, 6-0. David Samardzija won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 Singles and Niederle capped off the win with a quick 6-0, 6-0 sweep.

Sarah Urbanek and Nadine Geschke started things off for the women's side winning their No. 1 Doubles match 6-1 before Angela Rinaldi and Valentina Sottile won their No. 3 Doubles match to give SDC the 1-0 lead after doubles play.

Barbara Damiani won her singles match in the No. 2 spot 6-0, 6-1. Sottile won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 Singles and Tomi Felix won 6-1, 6-1 to clinch the match for SDC.

The Hawks will face off against Indiana Wesleyan on March 3 in Phoenix.
