[Men's Tennis] Men's Tennis Starts 4 game home stretch with 4-1 Victory over Oakland City

The Brescia University men's tennis team won their home 4-1 over Oakland City on Saturday (Feb. 15).

Brescia swept doubles play to earn the doubles point, beginning with a 6-0 victory from Danila Pyzh (SO/Minsk, Belarus) and Daniel Paez Fernandez (SO/Bogota, Colombia) over Jose Perez and Kaleb Knepp at No. 1. Joao Paulo De Carvalho and Aleska Stefanovic defeated Grant Holder and Michael Kluemper 6-0 at No. 2, before Jacob Dipert and Christian Fernandez teamed up for a 6-3 win over Jake Hughes and Noah Peak at No. 3.

Brescia would win three out of six singles matches on the day to take the victory. Paez would defeat Holder 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, before Pyzh defeated Noah Peak 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Stefanovic would earn a 6-3, 6-3 win over Jake Hughes at No. 4 singles to help the Bearcats to victory. Dipert and Tavera matches were unfinished.

The Bearcats (2-0) are back in action on Friday (Feb. 21) in Owensboro at Centre Court against 16th ranked Georgetown in a non-conference match. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
