[Men's Tennis] Men's Tennis Rolls Past Prairie Wolves

Doane Men's Tennis took on Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday in dual action, topping the Prairie Wolves, 7-2. The NCAA Division III scoring rules were used for the match as the teams played to nine team-points.

In singles action, the Tigers took the top five singles matches. Jorge Chevez (SO/Panama City, Panama) was a straight-sets winner, 6-4 and 6-1. Elliott Abromeit (SR/Lawrence, Kan.) won by injury default and Henrique Sakoda (SO/Sao Paulo, Brazil) picked up a 6-2 and 6-4 win. Sam Coy (SO/Lincoln, Neb.) won at No. 4 singles 6-2 and 6-1 while Shingirayi Kamucheka (JR/Harare, Zimbabwe) won in a tie-break 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 1-0 (10-6).

In doubles play, Chevez and Sakoda won 8-7 (7-5) while Abromeit and Kamucheka won 8-1.

The Tigers will travel to Wichita, Kansas, on February 15 to take on Bethel at 2 PM.
