[Women's Tennis] Women's Tennis Falls to NCAA D1 Northern Illinois

Doane Women's Tennis took on NCAA Division I Northern Illinois on Sunday afternoon in Lincoln. NIU was in Omaha over the weekend, also taking on Creighton and Nebraska-Omaha. The Huskies posted a 7-0 win over the Tigers, handing Doane their first loss of the season. The Tigers are now 2-1 on the season while NIU moves to 5-3.

In singles action, Brylee Laubee, Payton Stalder (SO/Omaha, Neb.) and Huong Ngo (FR/Crete, Neb.) were the only Tigers to secure games won in the match. Laubee fell at No. 2 singles, 6-0 and 6-1, Stalder fell at No. 5 singles, 6-0 and 6-1, while Ngo lost 6-3 and 6-2 at No. 6 singles.

In doubles action, the team of Liz van der Torre (FR/Greeley, Colo.) and Stalder were able to take a game at No. 2 doubles as they fell 6-1.

Doane returns to action on Saturday, February 15, when they take on Bethel College in Wichita, Kansas, at 2 PM.
