[Men's Tennis] #13 Hawks Upset By Upstart Saint Katherine

RAMONA, Calif. – The #13 ranked San Diego Christian men's tennis team lost in shocking fashion to an upstart Saint Katherine Firebirds squad 3-4 on Tuesday at Riviera Oaks Resort & Racquet Club.

After sweeping the doubles competition to claim a 1-0 lead, the Hawks' Nick Nienhaus and Ivan Smith won the first two matches of the singles competition to take a commanding 3-0 lead. SDC seemed to be cruising, needing only a single victory in one of the final 4 matches to claim the victory. Saint Katherine had an upset in mind and ended up sweeping the final four matches to claim the 3-4 upset and their first match victory in program history.

The Hawks look to right the ship on Tuesday, February 11, at 2:00 pm against a very tough Point Loma Nazarene Sea Lion squad.
