The perfect start to the fall continued for the Bees as St. Ambrose moved to 3-0 following an 8-1 win over Monmouth Thursday afternoon.

The Bees swept the six singles matches and took two of the three doubles matches.

Five of the six singles victories were determined in straight sets. Meg Chadick (6-0, 6-1) and Megan Schueneman (6-1, 6-0) each just dropped a single game in their wins at No. 2 and No. 6, respectively. Kiersten Housenga lost just three games in her 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.

Emma Lang and Meghan Maynard were pushed in their opening sets. Lang won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4 and Maynard earned a 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 5.

Elizabeth Bush was the only Bee pushed to a third-set super-tiebreaker. She rallied after dropping the first set at No. 3 before posting a 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 win.

The doubles matches were all competitive. Chadick and Bush teamed for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles and Schueneman and Maynard paired for an 8-5 win at No. 3.

Lang and Housenga dropped a tightly-contested match at No. 2 doubles for the only SAU loss.

St. Ambrose will host Dubuque next Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
