[Women's Tennis] Bees move to 2-0 win 5-4 win over Truman State

A tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles proved to be the difference as St. Ambrose defeated Truman State 5-4 Friday afternoon at the Davenport Assumption tennis courts.

The win, the second 5-4 decision of the year for the Bees, moved the team to a perfect 2-0 in the fall.

Emma Lang and Kiersten Housenga won their tiebreaker 7-2 at No. 2 doubles in what proved to be the decisive match. Elizabeth Bush and Meg Chadick earned a tight 8-6 win at No. 1 as SAU took two of the three doubles matches.

The Bees then got the split they needed in the six singles matches. 

Chadick survived a second-set breaker in her straight set 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) win at No. 2 singles. Bush dropped just two games in her 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles. Megan Schueneman got the other St. Ambrose win, a 6-2, 7-5 at No. 6.

Housenga fell 10-8 in a third-set super-tiebreaker at No. 1 singles and Lang lost 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4.

SAU will host Monmouth next Thursday at Assumption.
