Naomi Osaka Reveals Which Country She'll Play For in the Olympics!

0 25

Naomi Osaka is on the cover of Allure‘s August 2019 issue, out on newsstands on July 23.

Here’s what the 21-year-old tennis star had to say…

On which country—she played for Japan on WTA tours, but lives in the United States, and currently has dual citizenship—she will play for in the Olympics: “Definitely my intention is to play for Japan.”

On the physical toll tennis has taken: “I wake up in the morning and all of my bones crack. I don’t think that’s normal.”

On not considering herself better than any other tennis player at her level: “There’s a certain point where talent isn’t useful anymore, and from there you’ve just got to want to win more than everyone else. I think that’s something I noticed from an early age, so that’s what I’ve been fortunate with.”
